Mechanic — the advancing Exhaust

One to four travellers enter a circular maze to gather Fuel and awaken the ancient mechanism at its centre.

Behind them, the Exhaust advances across the board. It grows as the expedition enters each new ring, increasing its strength and the number of Exhaust Dice rolled. Creatures emerge within it, safe routes disappear, and anyone who ends the round in Exhaust risks Corruption.

The maze does not simply become smaller. It becomes more dangerous and the way towards the centre becomes harder to trust. Stabilize the Anchor or all will fall.
